personality
Taylor’s path to physiotherapy was shaped by a childhood filled with sports and the inevitable injuries that came with them. Growing up in Saskatchewan, he threw himself into every sport he could find—hockey, soccer, basketball, you name it. The thrill of competition was exhilarating, but it came at a cost: sprains, strains, and countless visits to the physiotherapist’s office. Those early encounters with physiotherapy planted a seed, sparking a curiosity about the body’s ability to heal and the professionals who guided that process.
In 2009, Taylor moved to Alberta, diving into the demanding world of oil field work and later transitioning to commercial plumbing. These physically intense jobs took a toll on his body, leading to overuse injuries that forced him to pause and reflect. The pain wasn’t just physical—it was a wake-up call. Taylor began to question whether these jobs aligned with his deeper desire to make a meaningful impact.
Sitting down to map out his future, Taylor evaluated careers that would leave him fulfilled at the end of each day. He wanted a role where he could directly improve lives, drawing on his own experiences with injury and recovery. Physiotherapy emerged as the clear choice. It wasn’t just about fixing bodies—it was about empowering people in his community to reclaim their strength and confidence. For Taylor, becoming a physiotherapist wasn’t just a career shift; it was a calling to make a lasting, positive difference in the lives of others.
