personality

Bryce started his journey into physiotherapy as a patient. Following an injury which threated to keep him out of baseball, Bryce attended physio and was delighted in how quickly the professional diagnosed and treated his injury. He was game ready in no time and has been fascinated with the profession ever since. Bryce strives to help patients achieve the same type of speedy recovery and realizes that no one has time for injury. Bryce enjoys treating a wide variety of injury and patients from desk jockeys to weekend warriors to high performance athletes a like. Bryce found his way to Leading Edge after working in BC and in other clinics around Edmonton and through his experiences he has come to the conclusion that you have to treat with your head as well as your heart.

  • Favorite book – he is a slow reader and is still working his way through the classics. George Orwell’s “1984” is likely his favorite so far, but he will always have a special place for “The Hobbit” by J.R.R Tolkien in his heart.
  • Favorite sport – Sundays are for football. Go Hawks!
  • Favorite movie – as a kid Bryce wanted to grow up and become a dinosaur. It is fitting that his favorite movies are Jurassic Park 1-5.
  • Favorite Hobby – call him a weekend warrior, or just a rec league digger. Most of his hobbies are recreational sports. Golf has taken over most mornings and weekends.
  • Clinical Pet Peeve – who stole his pen? he always has one tucked in a pocket or behind his ear because of pen thieves. Nobody is going after those pens.
  • Something you may not know about him – he’s an avid ukulele strummer and beekeeper.
  • Staff say – “I have a soft spot for this guy. He really seems to grow on ya.”
  • Superhuman Talent – 2 talents! He is able to make a passable snack out of any random food in the fridge and start a campfire out of even the soggiest wet firewood. Avengers haven’t got anything on him.

edge

Bryce graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and completed his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2018. He has also completed several after-degree courses in orthopedics, acupuncture and vestibular rehabilitation. As a result, he has you covered for any injury from toes to nose. Bryce continues to advance his academic portfolio and actively seeks out further opportunities to further his understanding of the human body in order to help all his patients achieve their health and wellness goals. He is very pleased to be welcomed into the Leading Edge family at their St. Albert location and into the community they have called home for decades.

  • Vestibular Rehabilitation

Conditions such as vestibular neuronitis, labyrinthitis, and benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) are the more common diagnoses that may fall into this category, in addition to a variety of more rare conditions that affect the vestibular end organs and neurological tracts. When the brain is having difficulty deciphering the signals that are flowing to it, or when the signals themselves are the problem, this can lead to dizziness and balance issues. The good news is that we have the people and technology to help determine why.

  • Zero Gravity Treadmill

Stress fractures, torn ligaments, torn muscles, lower extremity surgeries, tendinosis and many more conditions will keep a person from weight-bearing without pain. These conditions prevent walking, running and sometimes even standing. Our Alter-G Zero Gravity Treadmill looks and acts like a bounce castle for the lower body. The Alter-G uses “unweighting technology” that can make you feel up to 80 percent lighter. This in turn allows for an accelerated recovery in a protected environment and with less downtime.

  • Traction / Spinal Decompression

We utilize the latest advanced equipment in every aspect of the care we provide. In providing spinal traction we utilize the Chatanooga Triton dts Spinal Decompression System.
