personality
Stefan grew up in Stony Plain, where he played just about every sport he could—though coordination wasn’t exactly his strong suit. Still, he found a true passion in lacrosse. When the season wrapped up, you’d find him skiing, shooting hoops, or hitting the gym to stay active through the winter. From a young age, Stefan knew he wanted to work with people. Helping others came naturally, even if most of his family chose a different path—accounting. (Sorry, Luke.) Crunching numbers all day? Not for him. Physiotherapy offered the perfect blend of connection, movement, and meaning. Today, Stefan brings his big heart, endless supply of dad jokes, and practical guidance to every client he works with. He’s passionate about helping people thrive—whether that’s through rehab, lifestyle changes, or just a good laugh. When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll find him spending time with family or sampling the most obscure foods he can get his hands on.

edge
Stefan began his physiotherapy journey with Leading Edge in 2019 as Dan’s assistant at Capilano while he studied a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Alberta. During his time in school, Stefan always knew he wanted a career where he helped people. Throughout highschool and university, his sights were set on medicine. However, Stefan’s plans quickly shifted towards physiotherapy after starting to work at Leading Edge as an assistant for Capilano’s finest, Dan Timmermans. While at Capilano, Stefan was deeply drawn to spending time with patients, building relationships, and addressing the underlying causes of their problems (and the amount of fun to be had at the same time!). Stefan is fervently pursuing additional certifications to further his understanding of complexities of the human body, optimizing movement, pain-reduction strategies, and holistic approaches to health. He looks forward to assisting you to live life to the fullest, pain-free!
