personality

Anna grew up in Edmonton playing volleyball and ringette and has always loved being part of a team. She was especially drawn to the strategy and problem-solving side of sport, which initially led her to pursue a combined Kinesiology and Education degree at the University of Alberta with the goal of becoming a high school math and physical education teacher.

During university, Anna discovered a strong interest in how the body works and realized that spending every day with 30+ teenagers might not be the right fit. Around the same time, she tore her ACL and spent several years in physiotherapy, where everything clicked. Physiotherapy combined exactly what she was looking for: problem solving, biomechanics, education, and one-on-one or small group care.

Outside of the clinic, Anna enjoys board games, crochet projects, travelling to new places, and spending time outdoors. She looks forward to working with you to improve function and help you reach your rehabilitation goals.

  • Favorite Books – The Thursday Murder Club
  • Favorite Music – Anything! Love country and chill singer-songwriter stuff. But usually prefers to drive in silence (isn’t that weird).
  • Movies She Loves – Recently became a big Harry Potter fan after finally reading all the books (a little late to the party)
  • Favorite sports/activities – Volleyball, pickleball, long walks, does having a pint on the patio count?
  • What her physio assistants say about her – “She is super compassionate and hilarious and loves talking about her crochet projects”
  • Clinical Pet Peeve – Not being able to find a reflex hammer (yes its bold and italicized… because she has strong feelings about this)
  • Something you may not know about her – She lived in Ireland for 2 years while getting her Masters in Physio (don’t ask her about it unless you want her to ramble about how much she loves Ireland for 10 minutes straight)
  • Superhuman Talent– Weirdly good with directions (she’s been called “Anna-vigation” by her friends)
  • Community connections – Before moving to Ireland she was involved in coaching volleyball and mentoring teens with an organization called Young Life.

edge

Anna started her leading edge journey as a kinesiologist – where she quickly fell in love with the environment and community at the clinic. With aspirations to become a physiotherapist, she started by completing the combined kinesiology and education program at the University of Alberta – graduating with distinction in 2023. Right after this, she decided to complete her Masters of physiotherapy at University College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland, which she completed in 2025. Now she’s back in Edmonton as a physiotherapist, settled right back into the Leading edge community.
