personality

Adam has always had a passion for helping people. Growing up he played a lot of sports, including hockey at an elite level and was on the patient side of the table many times.  Being a patient, that’s likely where his physiotherapy journey began.  His crazy journey took him to Australia to complete his master’s degree and then back home again to continue at Leading Edge.  Adam loves every minute of being able to help people from all backgrounds and activity levels get back to doing what they love.  He tells his patient’s that the only thing keeping him up at night is figuring out how to make them better. His level demeanor, genuine caring and keen focus on his patients make him a leading edge personality that fits right in.

  • Favorite book– “Go Dog Go.” But if he has to pick a grown up book then it would be say anything by Tom Clancy.
  • Favorite sport– Hockey. But really he’ll play or watch any of them. Except for basketball…
  • Favorite movie– any of the Marvel Movies but his favorite is Captain America: Civil War or Winter Soldier. Looking a little like the Cap helps too.
  • Favorite Hobby– Rock climbing. Gotta keep those treating hands in shape. Good grip matters in our profession.
  • Clinical Pet Peeve– Colleagues not using up the last of the tape roll before grabbing a new one and leaving the scraps in the tape bucket.
  • Something you may not know about him – he brews his own kombucha. Who does that?
  • Staff say – “he’s short.” Being taller than Grant makes us all wonder what they think about his height.
  • Superhuman Talent– Solving Anagrams and word Puzzles. I could be the Ken Jennings of Wheel of Fortune

edge

Adam started his Leading Edge journey as a practicum student at the University of Alberta during his undergrad. He was part of the team then and has been part of the team ever since. Following his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, he boarded a plane to Australia. While there, he received his Masters degree from the University of Queensland. All of that world travel and education did not slow him down. Since landing with his Masters in Physiotherapy, he immediately sought to expand his practice and knowledge base. He has completed postgraduate studies including acupuncture, vestibular/concussion rehabilitation and advanced orthopedics.  His favorite part of physiotherapy at Leading Edge is that lifelong learning is part of the job. We are lucky to have him on the Leading Edge team. He loves that we give as much back to the community as we get from it. Ask him about our ongoing community/charity activities – he looks forward to helping you get back to doing whatever you’re passionate about!

  • Vestibular Rehabilitation

Conditions such as vestibular neuronitis, labyrinthitis, and benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) are the more common diagnoses that may fall into this category, in addition to a variety of more rare conditions that affect the vestibular end organs and neurological tracts. When the brain is having difficulty deciphering the signals that are flowing to it, or when the signals themselves are the problem, this can lead to dizziness and balance issues. The good news is that we have the people and technology to help determine why.

At Leading Edge Physiotherapy, our physiotherapists have extensive training in medically indicated exercise. (This is a good thing.)
