personality
Being a young, injury prone athlete, Keaton always seemed to find himself in and out of physio clinics. Eventually he took note of the comradery and good energy that always circulated in these clinics; especially when he found Leading Edge. He began to recognize that physio could provide the path for him to combine a love for sports, interest in anatomy and the human body, and above all else passion for helping others. It has been his dream job since roughly the age of 12 and he hasn’t looked back. He relishes every opportunity to help patients recognize their own strength and resilience. Believing that knowledge is power, he seeks to empower patients by helping them understand their pain and how best to overcome it. As much as he likes to teach his patients, he enjoys learning even more; talk to him about food, sports, or anything pop-culture and you’ll have his ear forever.
- Favorite books – The Lord of the Rings, Playing With Fire
- Favorite Music – Anything from the early 2000’s but also classical piano
- Movies he/she loves – See “favorite books”…but basically anything. The Big Lebowski and Ratatouille remain standouts, as well as old Westerns.
- Favorite sports/activities – Basketball, Hockey, hiking, weightlifting
- Physio nickname – Quadzilla …. or just “Gams”
- What his physio assistants say about him – will exclusively play early 2000’s music when in control of the playlist. Also randomly squats throughout the day
- Clinical Pet Peeve – Exclusively country music playlists or rogue “bed gel” getting on his clothes
- Something you may not know about him/her – Lived in the great city of Limerick, Ireland for nearly two years which could be the reason for his endless supply of dad jokes
- Superhuman Talent– Superhuman balance due to inhumanly flat feet
edge
Keaton joined the Leading Edge team as a practicum student when completing his Kinesiology degree at the University of Alberta. After a two-month tryout and much deliberation they decided that he was worth keeping around. He took an active role in the clinic’s hydrotherapy pool, gym, and as a Physiotherapy assistant before taking his talents overseas to study Physiotherapy at the University of Limerick in Ireland, obtaining his Masters degree with first class honors. While just beginning his career as a Physio, Keaton demonstrates a zest for learning and improvement that will no doubt leave his hands full with additional training and Certifications. For now, he cherishes the opportunity to work one on one with patients to get you back to moving and living free of pain. He injects each treatment with a balance of knowledge, empathy, and fun so that your session is as informative as it is entertaining.
